Not everyone has to understand my world. It is enough I dare to live it.
— Johanna Olivia

My name is Johanna Olivia Lundberg, and I’m a contemporary artist.
I paint what most people are afraid to feel. My work explores courage, vulnerability, and human presence. I often work with live performance and live painting, where the process and the audience’s interaction become part of the art. I’m fascinated by emotion, movement, and expression, and I’ve exhibited on both national and international platforms.
I was born in 1991, grew up on an island in the Swedish archipelago, and spent twelve years living in the Netherlands. Creativity has always been part of my life. After studying art and design in Utrecht, I chose to commit fully to my own artistic path. No longer living someone else’s dream, but shaping my own.
My process is guided by instinct and intuition. When I work, I step away from the ordinary world and enter an abstract space where there’s no pressure, no expectation of perfection. Just presence and freedom.
I want my work to make you look again. To stir something, spark curiosity, awaken the imagination. I hope to inspire people to be more present and to embrace what they feel rather than hide it, as I did for a long time. My philosophy is simple: live now. Don’t postpone things for a later that may never come.
Live performances and paintings are available on request.
Representation
I’m currently looking for gallery representation in Sweden and internationally. If you work with contemporary artists and think my work could be a fit, I’d love to hear from you.
