The people who get me make me better. After a good conversation with someone on the same wavelength, I walk away with more energy than I arrived with. That matters more than I used to admit.
The opposite hits hard too. When I’m stuck in work that goes against how I think, something quietly shuts down. Not dramatically, just a slow numbness where every day starts to feel the same. If I need to step away at 2 pm and come back at 8 pm because that’s when the ideas show up, I can do that now. It sounds small, l but it isn’t.
I’ve spent enough years adjusting myself to fit other people’s comfort. I am done with that now. Not as a big statement, just as a fact. If my way of living makes someone uneasy, that’s not mine to sort out.
I don’t have a large circle, but the people in it show up and say yes to the unplanned thing and are not afraid of me being passionate, spontaneous, and messy.
The concert gave me the urge to create, and I experimented with charcoal and ink,
